Every year teaches you something.
But some years don’t just teach — they shape you.
2025 was one of those years for us.
It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t flashy. It didn’t come with overnight wins . Instead, it showed up quietly, site by site, meeting by meeting, asking us to solve real problems — and then solve them again, differently, the next day.
This was also a year of many firsts. From procuring raw materials in bulk and understanding an entirely new side of planning and inventory, to taking the leap into turnkey furniture projects for full homes — living rooms, dining spaces, bedrooms, balconies — entire houses, not just individual pieces. With that came a very different kind of growth.
We spent more time offline than online. More time on sites than on screens. More conversations with interior designers, architects, vendors, and carpenters than with our website backend. Each project came with its own layout quirks, technical challenges, timelines, and learning curves. No two houses behaved the same — and that kept us on our toes.
There were days when we were figuring out detailing on-site, tweaking joinery, recalibrating dimensions, or adjusting finishes because the light hit differently than it did in drawings. It pushed us to grow — not just creatively, but technically. Our understanding of construction, materials, proportions, and execution deepened in ways no collection launch ever could.
Somewhere along the way, we also introduced styling — almost instinctively at first. Helping clients with that final layer, the soft furnishings, the artwork, the lighting, the details that make a space feel complete. What started as “just a few suggestions” soon became a full-fledged offering, because we realised how much joy (and impact) that last 20% brings.
This year also taught us patience — the kind that comes from waiting for approvals, aligning timelines, coordinating multiple vendors, and trusting the process even when things felt messy. It wasn’t always smooth. But it was real. And it made us better designers.
Somewhere in between all this, onebytwo quietly matured. We refined systems. We built stronger relationships. We stopped chasing speed and started valuing depth. 2025 reminded us why we started in the first place — that furniture isn’t about pieces in isolation. It’s about spaces. About how people live in them. And about showing up fully, even when the work is harder and slower.
Most importantly, this year made us feel rooted. In our team. In our process. In our belief that building something with intention is always worth it. As we step into a new year, we’re carrying forward clarity, confidence, and a deep sense of gratitude. For the lessons. For the people. For the work that continues to teach us.
Here’s to what was.
And to what’s coming next.
