Sabha: A Celebration of Slow Living, Timeless Craft, and Indian Heritage

In a world that often feels like it’s speeding past us, there's something profoundly soothing about slowing down, taking a breath, and basking in the warmth of a quiet, serene space. For those moments of stillness and reflection, there’s a lifestyle that evokes calm—slow living, where the hours stretch out like golden afternoons, filled with the beauty of simplicity and heritage. This is the essence of Sabha, a collection inspired by India’s vibrant yet understated legacy, crafted for today’s mindful and design-conscious living.

The idea behind Sabha was born out of a yearning to bring back the moments of calm that our grandparent’s generation so effortlessly embraced. Imagine an afternoon spent lounging in a room filled with the scent of jasmine, sunlight streaming through the windows, casting delicate shadows across the floor. The soft hum of nature, the coolness of a cane seat, the golden glow of brass reflecting the sun’s rays, and the quiet chatter of loved ones gathering around—this is what we set out to capture with Sabha.

It all began with the timeless art of Ittal, a tribal painting tradition from Odisha, where every stroke tells a story of community, nature, and life. The intricate brass inlay motifs and chiseled wood detailing are a tribute to the stories and artistry of India’s tribal communities.

At the heart of this collection is the idea of gathering. Each piece is designed to encourage conversation, connection, and shared moments. Much like the traditional Sabha or gathering space, our furniture isn’t just for sitting; it's for slowing down, for sitting together, for being present.

The Diwan, a low chair inspired by the deep-rooted concept of a communal seat, offers a place to reflect. It’s a seat made for those long, lazy afternoons where the world outside slows to a crawl. The Sandook console, with its cane doors and brass detailing, brings a sense of nostalgia and function. It is a gentle reminder of spaces in our homes where stories were kept safe and shared, where memories were stored in the little nooks and crannies.

This collection is a tribute to India’s slow living culture—a celebration of spaces that connect us with the past while shaping our future. In a world that often pulls us forward, Sabha offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect—with ourselves, with the stories that came before us, and with the people we share our lives with. It’s not just furniture; it’s a celebration of an Indian way of living—a way of living that values connection, community, and craft.

So, as you bring these pieces into your home, may they not just occupy space, but fill it with warmth, with stories, and with the spirit of slow living. May they remind you of the golden afternoons, the rich artistry of our heritage, and the simple joy of being present in the moment.
