Swing Series: New Seats, Same Love for the Sway

Swing Series: New Seats, Same Love for the Sway

Designing swings is a bit of a core memory for us. From the first time we carved out a curve on a wooden plank and imagined it suspended mid-air, we knew this category had our heart. There’s something magical about swings — they’re not just furniture, they’re moods. Sometimes a conversation starter, sometimes a nap pod, sometimes a makeshift thinking bench. And every time we design one, it’s personal.

This time, we’re introducing two new swings that are both incredibly different yet very OneByTwo.

First up, a hanging swing that blends sculpted wood and structure. It has a rod-backed frame with bold detailing — circle cut-outs, slits and rounded corners — giving it a rhythm and lightness. We added a snug seat cushion in a muted blush tone for just the right pop. This one’s perfect for a shaded balcony, a verandah with breeze, or even an indoor hallway that needs some swing therapy.

The second piece? A free-standing swing that says “bold and grounded” in the same breath. It sits on a thick teakwood frame with black metal rods running clean and minimal through the arms and back. A soft blue channel-tufted cushion finishes the look. It’s modern, structured and super sturdy — ideal for spaces where you want the joy of a swing but not the hassle of ceiling hooks.

Both pieces stay true to what we love: combining materiality with mood, and always bringing comfort into conversation. This is just the second part of our swing story — stay tuned as we share more from the series, including custom designs we’ve built for homes that wanted something a little extra.

We’ll be back with more swings, more stories and maybe a few behind-the-scenes peeks from our workshop.
Because every swing deserves a backstory — and a good breeze.
