One of the most underrated parts of building a beautiful home? Fabric. Not just the kind you drape — but the kind you sink into.
At Onebytwo, our upholstery process is less “pick a colour” and more “let’s feel it, test it, and then decide if it belongs in your living room.” Because furniture is not just about looking good — it’s about living well.
While our carpenters and machines are busy crafting the woodwork, we kick off the tapestry process side-by-side. We begin building a visual moodboard that connects everything — flooring, wall colour, wood finish, and finally, fabric tones. It’s a bit like matchmaking — but for textures.
Next comes our little visual ritual: a swatch collage. Imagine all your chairs, sofas, pouffes, stools, and daybeds laid out together… as fabric squares. Each piece gets its own identity — because a TV room sofa and a dining bench? They’ve got very different lives.
From there, it’s all about feel. Do you want your TV sofa to hug you like a cloud? Or your formal seating to hold its ground with quiet poise? Based on the furniture’s function and vibe, we go product by product — choosing foam densities (hard, soft, somewhere in between), adding a touch of recron if needed, and even cutting the farmo (our seat base guide) to match that decision.
And then come the finishing touches:
The piping that elevates a plain seat.
The stitches that hint at craftsmanship.
The cushions that make you say, “Okay, now it’s done.”
We don’t decide all this on a screen or a spreadsheet. We ask you to come, sit, bounce, sink, and judge. Because if your sofa doesn’t pass the “cup of chai + Netflix test,” it’s back to the drawing board.
For us, upholstery isn’t just a final layer — it’s where form meets function, and softness meets strength.
We’re always unravelling new ways to make comfort look good — and feel even better.
